♥ February Ipsy Unboxing + January Review ♥

♥ February Ipsy Unboxing + January Review ♥

Ipsy is a monthly subscription box for makeup products.
I was not given this box. All opinions are my own. Based off my preferences! :D
Cost: $10 per month
They ship to the U.S., and Canada

There is a wide variety of options for Ipsy bags. You take a quiz when you first sign up (this can be retaken as many times as you like). This effects what is in your bag each month.

Each time you get a bag you have the option of reviewing the items you received. I've found that this is the best way to effect what you get in your bag each month. The more reviews you complete the more likely you are to like your bags.

Here is my referral link

Awesome! Happy to get any face/body products. I do have sensitive skin though so I'll have to be careful with this product. It is both a physical exfoliator and a chemical one. I do have pore issues!

Claims:
Smooth + even out skin texture
Cleanse and refine pores

(The only sealed item in this bag)

I'm SO unbelievably excited about this. I had a bunch of these saved on Etsy to purchase. I love this product already. I really disliked the feel of traditional sandpaper files and the noise! This is almost silent and easier on my nails. My nails chip/peel due to health problems (I'm already aware of) and this helps combat that. Using this seals the end of my nail together while filing instead of breaking it up like files usually do.

Claims:
smoother, finer finish
protects nails
less prone to splitting
can be used on toes/fingers both

The full size of this is huge. Therefore, this must be a deluxe size. The original has space on the opposite end for a separate contour brush end you can buy and attach. This is a sample size but I cannot find the size of the original. As this packaging isn't able to have attachments and it much smaller I'd just be guessing at price. The attachment brush is an extra $5

I'm guessing this sample is around $5? Smaller product size, smaller packaging, can't attach...etc.

This is scentless and dries to a powder. It blends AMAZINGLY well..I put a circle of it in the picture and then a line below it that I blended out with my fingertips.

Claims:
Paraben free
cruelty free
Fragrance free
Petro chemical free
Made with love (WHAT!? Holy smokes)

The website says this color is a "Dusty rose" pink but... when I think dusty I think grey tones. This looks hott pink to me or a bubblegum pink.

If you've been reading my unboxings and reviews for a while you know that I adore Trust Fun beauty nail polishes. This one is no exception. The formula is spectacular. One coat polish, great self leveling, beautiful color... a perfect polish. If only they weren't $15!!

Claims:
7-free!! (No: formaldehyde, camphor, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde resin, parabens, gmos)
Non-toxic
Vegan
Long-wear
Cruelty-free

I really want "resting bitch face" , "credit card workout", and "champagne problems" haha

Oil primer! How will my oily skin handle this? Ha ha. This is scentless and absorbs instantly.

How to use:
It says to massage 2 drops onto clean skin... but also says morning and night? Do they mean before you take off your makeup and apply your magic NIGHT makeup? If so.. all my dreams have come true. Ha ha. I'm the only one who wishes there was "night" lipstick? Oh..okay.

You can also use this on your hair and nails. It also suggests OVER your makeup for added glow. Wow...I will probably use this one my nails, to be honest. I have a cuticle oil that smells like death (they say dark almond).

Claims:
Preps skin for makeup (sits on top of face to smooth it and absorbs to hydrate)
reduces dry/fine lines
give glowing look

Total spent for the bag: $10
Total bag is worth: $49.92
Total saved: $39.92

Awesome! I'm in love with the crystal nail file and as I was planning on buying one for around $10 that pays for this back all by itself. I'll be using the primer oil as a cuticle oil and I'm elated over the nail polish from my favorite brand. The exfoliator was a win because I loveeee favorite products and it is something I can try out. The only meh item is the blush but it is a really pretty color and I'll get use out of it!

January Review

I've actually turned to this little trio more often than anything else. These three colors work well with my complexion, and go really well with each other. The shadows have no fall out and are pigmented.

Mitchell and Peach English Leaf Body Cream - Sample Size - 1oz for $8.50

Blech! Ha ha. I gave this ONE chance and then gave it away to a friend who loved the scent. I couldn't handle it. It smells like ivy/plant...floral. She likes it though! :D

theBalm Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) in "Jac B. Bronze"

This is a nice liner and I love that it isn't black! It looks gold in the tube but it is most defiantly a dark bronze color when applied. This is one of my favorites for sure. The balm is a great company. I enjoy a lot of their products that I get!

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum - Sample Size -0.24oz for $3.25

As you can see from the picture I already had a full size of this product. I haven't opened this one yet but I'm still using the full size. I'll save the tiny one for travelling. The formula is great and gentle... but I haven't noticed any difference in my skin. I just enjoy using these products in general.

Coastal Scents Pearl Shadow Angle Large Brush - Full Size

I'll take ALL the brushesss! This a nice brush. Not one of my absolute favorites but I could find no fault with it.

Thank you so much for following along.

☼☼ October Boxycharm Unboxing + September Review☼☼

☼☼ October Boxycharm Unboxing + September Review☼☼

Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 4-5 full-size beauty/makeup products.

I was not given this box. All opinions are my own. Based off my preferences! :D

Cost: $21 per month (FREE SHIPPING!)

They only ship to 48 U.S. states. (They don't ship to Hawaii or Alaska yet.)

This has a subtle mint scent that I love! It reminds me of my grandmothers skincare. You are meant to apply a thin layer and leave it on 15-30 minutes until it dries. It doesn't feel like it dries hard like most do. It was extremely refreshing mask. It says to remove it with a damp wash cloth uses circular motions. I don't have patience for anything like that. I have sensitive skin though so I feel that the added exfoliating benefits are not needed for my skin. I just removed it with short swipes. My skin was pink for a bit after but it wasn't harsh.

Promises: antioxidant, vegan, smooth skin, glowing skin, purifies skin, absorbs impurities, cleans pores, defends against free radicals, reverse daily sun damage, cooling effect, soothes, refreshing, tingly, and leaves skin bright.

I'm sure the "brightening" ingredients are what left my skin pinkish.

Note the particles in mine?

Above on the left is a finger swatch on the right is a swatch blended out. The color is lovely for a cream blush. Nice and subtle. I'm not a huge fan of "pots" of product I have to dip my finger in! On top of that.. I've seen pictures of OTHERS who got this product and theirs didn't include these "specs". GROSS. I won't be using this on my lips at least.  I probably won't reach for this....

This is after using this mascara. It clumped the lashes together quickly but gave nice curl, length, and stayed curled for more than four hours.

On the right is the it cosmetics hello lashes mascara and on the left is this doucce punk volumizer mascara. Both are said to add volume and length. Clearly the Doucce on the right is the longer!

This is a HUGE natural bristled brush. I liked using it. I like the effect it gave my lashes and look forward to giving it a good run. I recieved the it cosmetics mascara and this one at the same time. So I'll be alternating them until next month.

I've heard there were several items in boxes rather than this one. A shadow trio, a lip cream, and a blush! Which did you get?

This is creamy and VERY black which I love. It is a bit soft and easily smudged though. I wouldn't use this on its own. I would couple this with a primer and a liquid liner as well but I will use it! This is a wooden pencil for easy sharpening as well.

Below: First Coat
 Below: Second Coat

A wonderful color to get in October! I love this grey and I didn't have a color like it. It is a solid two coat polish but had self leavening issues. In the end it was opaque all but a small part by the cuticle. Nothing you'd be able to see out of intense lighting.

Total spent for the bag: $21
Total bag is worth: $137.99
Total saved: $116.99

This is an almost PERFECT box this month with the exception of the lip/cheek stain. The polish, liner, mascara, and mask are all wonderful!

 1. Previse Skincare HydroMilk Hydrating Lotion
This scentless but nothing I can use daily. I use this after harsh masks otherwise I break out. It works well with the serum from Previse I have as well.

I...still haven't tried this. I will this month! Promise. I just haven't had time with school. I will add my thoughts on this I will add it on my next review.

 3. Vasanti Professional Foundation Brush
I use this brush a lot! I like that it is flat sided. I use it for foundation and concealer.

 4. Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel
This is a great gel. Doesn't leave my brow crunchy and is slightly tinted.

This is a BEAUTIFUL burgandy color that I love to use. The blending brush is useless though! I've tried using it and it didn't yield any results.

This was a bonus item in the box! I like the oil smell in this product and it makes the ends of my hair shiny and soft looking!

Both this month and last were wonderful boxes. Month after month I find SO much VALUE in Boxycharm.

Thank you so much for following along.

I'm excited about this! The directions say to apply to my face and let it dry. I love the green color, right? Cover my face with green slime... in order to be prettier. That sounds like me. This is supposed to tighten skin, diminish fine lines, and enhance blood circulation. That sounds good. lol.

This is my first kabuki brush! I'm excited to finally have one even though this one is TINY! The brush is more dense than I thought it would be. There was some shedding though.... so not sure about that $29.99 price tag!

 Out of the tube! GOLD!
Out of the sun. Click (or select the photo) to see it closure.
 In the sun! So beautiful.

This is interesting! I love the packaging, I love that there is pineapple, green tea, and vitamin C! It says you can use it as a regular highlight under brow or on cheeks and inner corner of they eye. OR... mix it with your foundation for a subtle glow! Or even... in a lotion.

I've read a few places that this company is launching their own subscription box! How does that work? lol. I mean.. will it just be THEIR products? Hmm.

This is from their nude line - color Volume IV - I didn't want to take off my coral nail polish (because I just put it on yesterday lol) so I just took off the ring fingers and added this nude shade. I LOVE this color. I love how nude colors look on my hands. This is ONE COAT. Such an amazing formula. Not streaky, Self leavening is nice.

I'd like to start saying that a lot of people got a "Doucce Click Click Lipstick" rather than this in their boxes. My heart is shriveling up and dying every time LIPSTICK is an option and the cosmos aren't in alignment in time for me to get one. WHAT do I need to DO... in order to get the sticks for my LIPS?!  Plus.... it clickclicks.. to open? I might just buy myself one. Shame.

Moving on.... this pinkie lavender shade is unusual and on any other day I'd be thrilled with it. I like cargo eyeshadows.

MAY REVIEW

I like this bronze shimmer for my temples and what not (I don't use it on my cheeks) it leaves a nice glow on my pale-ish skin without looking dirty.

Perfection. I love this COLOR and formula. The Lip Bar has crazy shades though so I'm not sure how soon I'll be purchasing another of their lipsticks.

This is amazing! I tried the darkest shade first because my brows are BLLLACKKKKK. It was TOO dark though. I prefer the middle brown shade. I use the lightest shade as an eyeshadow! This is a VERY pigmented little trio. I have to use a REALLY light hand with it.

The spoolie on this brush is normal. Nothing FANTASTIC to say about it lol but I have a complaint about the brush end. It is SO stiff that sometimes I forget and try and run it through my brow BACKWARD.. and it huuuuuuuurts. OUCH. I've done it TWICE and it was painful. I still use it every day though. lol.

I didn't have a color like this. I like the formula well enough. I'll always enjoy trying new colors of polish!
