☻☻August Lip Monthly Unboxing☻☻

So, I finally got my August Lip Monthly Box (slash...bag lol) This is the second one I've received. I love both of them so far.

Lip Monthly is a subscription box service. You pay $10 a month for 2-3 full sized lip products and 2-3 sample products.

As of August 2014 if you use the code Summerlips you'll get your first Lip Monthly box for only $6.99!

One of the product each month will be a non-lip product. This monthly mix up item is the only one in the bag that isn't a lip product!

Being me... and I am... I'm OBSESSED with lip products. I don't buy anything ELSE I swear. Well I have one brow kit, one blush, one concealer, a bag of nail polish (mostly gifts), a bag of eye shadows and .........a DRAWER full of lip products and a DRAWER full of skin products. So that is where I stand on the beauty front... lol

Pixi by Petra Lid Last Shadow Pen in the color "Gentle Gold" is $18USD
I love eyeshadow pens and my favorite color to buy it gold so this is the perfect extra item for me!

Jesse's Girl Liquid Glass Gloss is $4.99USD mine is in the color Lickity Split. I don't think I'll ever use this because not only is it a gloss which I'm not a fan of but it has THICK glitter in it. It feels scratchy on my lips. I'll be passing this along to a friends daughter as her first lip product.

On top is a control of my lips without any product and below it is the Jesse's Girl Gloss

City Color Be Matte Lipstick is $3.99USD mine is in the color "Phoebe." This is a matte lipstick and it is very pigmented. I prefer the matte look on my lips so this is something I was excited to get in my bag. This comes in 36 shades! It says it won't ever dry out but being a matte lipstick it feels dry as soon as you put it on. I find them to be kind of rough to put on as well. This isn't something you can put on without a mirror. I still think this will be my favorite out of the bag though.

City Color Magic Balm (this one hasn't been released to the public yet) Ironically I just bought a PH lip balm the day before this bag arrived. So, now I have two PH lip balms (this one and one from sephora) if you'd like to read about that PH lip balm the link is here. This one I have to say though is better. I like the smell of the other one but the lack of smell in this one is infinitely better. This is crushed a little bit (my bad) lol I closed it on itself. So this did look like a lipstick.. shape before I mangled it. I think this one is softer than the other one as well. I adore it, so far.

City Color Lip Balm is $2.99USD mine is in the color "Ultra Pink" There are 16 shades and are infused with vitamin E so they are smooth and moisturizing. I already know I like this because we got the exact same product in the last Lip Monthly box (July 2014) but it was in the shade "Bright Pink" You see that here.

I'm not to bent out of shape about it, even though I prefer to chose my own shades once I try an item, because I really liked this product.

Overall, I'm really pleased with my box and I'll continue to purchase them! :D

BOX TOTAL= $29.97 (I'll add the magic balm price once it is released!)

Thank you so much for following along.

Mini Sephora Haul

I had my 29th birthday at the beginning of August and I had a gift card to Sephora. Thus, the mini Sephora haul was born. I scoured the website and finally chose one of those PH lipsticks that turn color once they are applied.

Since it was my Birthday, Sephora threw in a little gift!
Plus, I got the 3 samples you get to chose while at checkout with Sephora.

Left to Right: Sephora Color Reveal Lip Balm, Make Up For Ever Smokey Extravagant Mascara, and Make Up For Ever Lipstick in Rouge

The Color reveal lip balm is in the color "Unique Pink"

I also got three samples: This first one is a cologne Atelier Cologne in "Cedrat Enivrant"

This perfume sample Fresh Life "Eau de parfum" 1oz of this is $48

This little sample packet is a Bliss brand Triple Oxygen + C energizing cream. Its a .7fl oz sample. I plan on using that up tonight!

Here are the swatches: The Sephora Color Reveal on the left and the Make Up Forever on the right.

When I wiped the Color Reveal off my lips with a makeup removing wipe this was the color.

This first picture is a control of my lips without any product on them

Toms River, New Jersey Vacation 2014

This is part two of our two week east coast vacation!

Go read about our trip to New York first!

Otherwise lets pick up where I left off yesterday. In New York we rented a vehicle and I drove us the 300 mile (five hour drive) to Toms River, NJ!

We were there to see my father and other assorted relatives.

We had a wonderful time there as well and I was SO happy that Hubbin's had the chance to really get to know the family I have out there. When he met them on our wedding day there wasn't exactly bonding time.

Here are some photos from that trip!

Point pleasant beach, NJ (THE BOARDWALK! My favorite)

Gotta luv the jelliesssss. When will I get my own tank full? lol

While standing in line to see the liberty bell in Philadelphia,PA I swear the clouds on the east coast are fluffier.

Seaside,NJ (The Jersey Shore boardwalk.. aka that SHOW)

If you want to see more of our adventures in New Jersey make sure and watch this video I made on my youtube channel. Footage! New Pictures! LOTSO'FUN!

Thank you SO much for following along

Corning New York Vacation 2014

We're back!

So, we were gifted a vacation to the east coast (if you aren't aware... we live in Washington state on the west coast of the U.S.) for two weeks.

The first week we'd spend in Corning, NY with Hubbins' family and the second week we'd spend in New Jersey with my family there.

This post is purely about the week in New York. I'll write a separate blog on the week in New Jersey.

We arrived at the airport July 15th and our plan was supposed to take off at 2:45pm PST.

One of the batteries had gone dead in a light that indicated the door was closed so our plan was delayed for 50 minutes.

This was HORRIBLE because our layover in Chicago was only 50 minutes... We were sure we'd miss our connecting flight to Elmira, NY.

Gerry's aunt was keeping tabs on our flight and the airport was trying to be helpful as well. They assumed we'd miss the flight and both rebooked us for the next available flight which was an entire day later.

Well.....our connecting flight was ALSO delayed (for unknown reasons) by around an hour and a half.. we ran from gate C.. to F in O'hare airport.. it was a 20 minute run. When we got to the gate our plane hadn't even arrived! We waited around huffing and puffing.

That flight was uneventful and we landed in Elmira, NY late but whole at around 12:30am EST.

Waiting at baggage.... and waiting..and waiting. YUP. You guessed it. Our baggage had been kept behind and would be put on the flight that didn't leave until the next day.

What a miserable first day in my "comfortable airplane clothes" without toiletries or lipstick...

So, of course I met almost everyone I was scheduled to meet on THAT first day. I'm sure I smelled like an old garbage can left out in 90 degree weather after it took two plane rides next to OTHER old garbage cans.

Otherwise we had a thrilling vacation there. Here are some memories...

From Centerway Bridge over the Chemung river in Corning, NY

A monument to the Seneca Indians in Painted Post, NY

Moi... taking a baby grand piano selfie.. still in awe.

There was a flood in Corning in 1972. This is the flood level inside the house. This is REALLY high. Inside the house is it about 5ft off the floor but the house has steps up to inside at this level. I'm not sure how high it was but... too high I'm sure.

My favorite piece inside the Corning Museum of Glass...

These are TINY pieces all molded together... earliest form of pixel art?

I was enchanted with all the two story homes in Corning since I can only think of ONE two story home that I've seen where I live... one.
