Easy DIY Wrap Bracelet

This is a DIY wrap bracelet. Yes, it is crochet. Don't panic! There are only two stitches in this and there is a video you can watch to show you the step by step process. If you don't know how to crochet you can go there and follow along! If you know how to crochet the following post is the pattern!

Here they are both wrapped and unwrapped.

It wraps around my 7.5'' wrist four times loose or five snug.

Supplies
Scissors
5mm beads with large holes (any color)
Worsted Weight Yarn (any color)
Tapestry Needle (18)
Button (inch)

Step One: Thread 36 beads (or more if you want it longer. It is about an inch for each bead. So, if you add one extra bead it will be an inch longer.)

Step Two: Chain 6
Step Three: Join with a slip stitch to form a ring like below. Chain one.

Step Four: Work 12 single crochet into the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the first single crochet.

Step Five: Chain 6. Slide a bead down the yarn until it is snug against your work then secure it with a chain stitch.
Step Six: Chain 3.
Step Seven: Slide a bead down the yarn until it is snug against your work then secure it with a chain stitch.
Step Eight-Thirty Three: Repeat Steps Six and Seven until you are out of beads.

Step Thirty-Four: Cut your yarn (leave a LONG tail when you cut because you are going to sew your button on with this tail) and pull it through your loop creating a knot.

Step Thirty-Five: Thread your needle and sew your button onto the end making sure to wrap some extra yarn around the base of your button to make it more secure.

Step Thirty-Six: Sew in both tails!

VIOLA! Wear and enjoy your new wrap bracelet.

♥Ipsy October Bag Unboxing 2014♥

Ipsy is a monthly subscription box for Beauty and Makeup products. When you sign up for Ipsy you do a little quiz that helps Ipsy chose the products to send you.

I was not given this box. All opinions are my own. Based off my preferences! :D
Cost: $10 per month
They ship to the U.S. and Canada only

This is my first Ipsy bag.

This bag is called Beauty Candy (Candy for Halloween maybe?). It says to share a pic of your October Glam Bag and tag @ipsy in it. Also, to hashtag #ipsy and #beautycandy for a chance to win a 1-year subscription to even more glam bag goodies to satisfy your craving!

My Promises! I was not compensated in any way for the products in the video above. It will always be my honest opinion about the products. If I am ever compensated for products, I will let you know.

The first item below is a Doll 10 H2go Highlighter in the color "Champagne" This product isn't available for purchase yet. Their CC powder is $30 and their concealer is $28.50 so I'm just going to say this is $28. It is super creamy (so much so that it feels almost like a potted gloss!) It is just a highlighter and very sheer. It leaves a little shimmer behind.

The next item is this hand cream from Figs & Rouge in the scent "Mango Mandarin" 20ml $6.56. The scent is overwhelmingly mango and WONDERFUL. I'm in love with this. It isn't the least bit oily and soaks into the hands immediately.

The third item is a Indie Lee Brightening cleanser 0.5oz $6?? I'm excited about this and it smells like fruit punch to me! Full size is 4oz for $32!

The next item is the only one in the bag that I wasn't happy to see. I wish there was ONE item we could not receive in a bag. Mine would be lip gloss. Lip products are my favorites but I can't stand a lip gloss so this will go to my cousin. Starlooks Lip Gloss in "Guilty Pleasure." $4?? (Full size is $12)

Below are before and after swatches of this lip gloss! On top are my lips with no product and below is this Guilty Pleasure lip gloss.

Finally, the last item in my bag is this Skone Cosmetics Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner- $15 FULL SIZE!

Here are swatches of the lotion, highlighter, lip gloss, and eye liner. The lotion immediately sank in and the highlight only has the faintest of shimmers to it. The lip gloss is on the right and the eye liner is on the left. I'm REALLY excited about this eyeliner for Halloween! I've never used anything but pencils and I'm glad I got this to try before I went out and purchased one full price.

Honestly, I'm THRILLED with this bag. I adore the bag itself (almost worth the $10 for me) and four out of five of the items I will use and enjoy (hopefully.) With the exception of the lip gloss. This bag is a WIN.

Bag Price: $10

Bag Total: $59.56
Savings: $49.56! (Of course this is questionable since almost all the products aren't for sale anywhere or they are deluxe samples which have to be calculated.

Watch me unbox this bag HERE!

Thank you so much for following along!

Lip Monthly is a monthly subscription box for LIP products (plus one non-lip item.) Every month, they will send out a new set of lip products. Sometimes the lip boxes have different colors but usually they are all the same brand.

I was not given this box. All opinions are my own. Based off my preferences! :D
Cost: $10 per month
You can use the coupon code FALL5 and get your first box for only $5
They ship to the U.S., Canada, and Internationally

This is my third Lip Monthly Box.

If you do a video review of the box and send them a link to the public video you get 25 reward points on their website! You must log into your Lip Monthly account to upload the link to get the points.
They used to throw in an extra item if you had done a video review.

JulieG Nail Color in the color "Romeo": 0.35oz - $3.99

Very opaque! I didn't even have to do a second coat. One of my new favorites! This polish is part of a "perfect pair" line on the Jesse's Girl website. Basically they have three polishes that go with three lipsticks. This polish Romeo goes with the "And Juliet" Lipstick. They also have Fred and Anthony polishes that go with the "And Cleopatra" and "And Ginger" lipsticks. I'm keen on getting the "And Juliet" lipstick that goes with my Romeo polish. :D

Cherimoya Lip Crayon in the color "Fig": 0.07oz *full size* $8 on the Cherimoya Webiste
It's also for purchase from Style 21 for $1.99 and Aubergine for $4.99 though....

That being said I'm glad it's in my box! I adore it!
Here are two pictures of my lips: On top is my lips without product. On the bottom is with the lip crayon above.

Cherimoya in "Fig"

Pur~lisse Hydra-Balance pur~moist moisturizer: 0.5oz $18 (full size is 1.7oz $55)

I can't say that I like this one yet or not but I did put some on my hands and it felt very nice! Not a lot of people were excited to get this one because it is in almost every subscription box out there. I was though because I haven't gotten one! I was disappointed though when I pulled it out of the bag though because when Lip Monthly gave a sneak peek I assumed it would be Pur~lisse's pur~lip comfort daily lip nourisher because that would make sense right? :/

Eco Lips Hemp USDA Certified Lip Balm in "Vanilla": *Full size* $3.49

I love the smell of this (grass/sweet) and the feel. It is very soft and easy to apply. I adore lip balms so this was a welcome sight!

Here are two pictures of my lips: On top is my lips without product. On the bottom is my lips with the Eco Lips above.

The next is a lip liner AND eye liner. I don't care for this product and I probably won't use it. It seems silly to market it as a lip pencil. Its SHARP and feels awful on the lips AND eyes. I couldn't get any product to show up on my eyes but here it is on my lips.

Makeup by Cherimoya Retractable Lip & Eye Liner in the color "Latte 24": *Full size* $3.99

The back comes off and becomes the sharpener that is built in.

Below are my lips without product

Below are my lips with the Lip Liner on them.

I'm not a fan of this product at all. The only one out of all the products I didn't like. That is still a successful box!

Before Lip Monthly started this rewards points system for doing unboxings they offered a free ITEM in the box of everyone whos done one. I review two boxes and I've never gotten anything. I wrote to them and gave them the benefit of the doubt before complaining in my videos. They apologized and said in Septembers box I would get TWO products.

I only received one extra which is below.

Fran Wilson Cool Mint Kiss Me Lip Gloss Lip Treatment 0.5oz $5 100% Natural Mint

Above are my lips with no product and below are my lips with the gloss on them.

Lip gloss is my least favorite lip product but I actually quite like this. I guess I'm not a fan of tinted gloss. I'm not afraid of this one wiping off on everything and the mint is quite refreshing!

BOX RUNDOWN BY Lip Monthly: $37.47 + my $5 extra = $42.47
BOX RUNDOWN BY me (buying the crayon elsewhere): $31.46 + my $5 extra = $36.46

Either way its a GREAT DEAL! Even without the $18 moisturizer.. its still almost double what I paid.

So, that is my ONE extra. I'm not bummed at ALL about not getting a second because I don't get these boxes for the extras. I don't write these blogs for extras. I don't do videos for extras. I do it all because I like to! This cool mint gloss is a nice extra and I accept it for BOTH videos that were done. I'm assuming they are dropping this plan and going with points because it is easier. I commend them on that switch. I'm looking forward to a smoother sailing ship in the future. I already can't wait for the October box. I hoping for ONE green lipstick in honor of Halloween!!!

Thank you so much for following along!

DIY Pink Yarn Bow w/video walk-through

I filmed, edited, and posted a video about the products I have used up. I didn't like it. When I made it, I made it because I thought people expected that kind of video. It was wrong of me and set me off balance. I knew I wasn't taking my YouTube channel in the direction I felt comfortable. I'm not a beauty expert or "beauty guru" by any means. So, I sat down and made of list of things I am an expert in. Two things were at the top. Lipstick and Crochet. The only beauty videos that will ever be on my channel will be about lipstick, that's okay. My YouTube channel is for me and my family and if others like to watch it, that is great too!

Sorry about that long intro! I just want to be clear that anything I post on my channel is there because I want it to be. I do this for fun! These are things I love. There has to be someone out there who loves lipstick AND crochet right? Or at least someone who loves lipstick and wants to LEARN a craft. That works for everyone.

Here is the video walk-through of the DIY PINK YARN BOW (this is crochet... I'll teach you!)

Don't worry! This tutorial walks you through not only how to make it but how to buy your supplies.

SUPPLIES
Scissors
A Tapestry Yarn Needle (not sharp)
A crochet hook that fits your yarn
Yarn (Size 4 Worsted Weight)

1. Buying your yarn! Go to a Walmart or craft store and find the yarn section. Then look at the label. They all have something like this on them. On the far left you can see the little yarn picture with a number FOUR in the middle? That is where you look for the number. They ALL have something like this. This is the size you'll need. There will be a wide variety 1-6. You'll notice right away #1 is TINY thin yarn and #6 is HUGE THICK yarn. We want a #4. Honestly though if you want a smaller yarn it will still WORK. It will just be a MUCH smaller bow.

2. To chose your crochet hook you'll need to look at this same label. The second square over says the knitting needle you'll need for that yarn. The third over has a picture of a crochet hook (a stick with a hook at the end) and it says the SIZE you'll need. For this yarn label it says I need a size I or 9. Here is my I-9 in the picture below. See it says US I9 then the mm that makes it an I-9. Easy as pie. You can buy a SINGLE crochet hook for $1 something or a pack of them.. it doesn't matter. They are super inexpensive like these! Make sure the pack you're buying has the size your yarn needs.

Before I go on let me explain the crochet hook sizes. Just like yarn is a 1 for small and a 6 for large.. crochet hooks get smaller the closer to a size A you get and larger the closer to a size Z you get. You need a specific size hook for each size of yarn because the hook at the END needs to be big enough to HOOK your yarn. If you have a size F crochet hook (small) and try to use it on a size 6 (large) yarn... the yarn will SLIP off. Not saying it can't be DONE! As far as I'm concerned even if you your yarn SAYS it needs a size I... you can use a size H and J just as well. The difference is literally millimeters. That being said if you DO chose to use something smaller the piece you are making will also be smaller. See the example below.

Now I don't remember if I used a different crochet hook on the one above. The hook I used for the one below was an I-9. I also held my yarn SUPER loose while making the below one because I made it on camera LOOKING through my camera so I could see what I was doing. That is why in the video I'm a little STABBY with the crochet hook. Ha ha. The results are the same though. This is the kind of difference you'd have using the wrong crochet hook. It isn't the end of the world.

3. Here is the VIDEO! Follow along!

If you already know how to crochet here is the pattern for this bow

CROCHET PATTERN
1. Begin with a magic circle with a LONG tail (1ft)
2. Chain 2, work 6 triple crochet into the circle, ch 3. sl st into your circle.
3. Repeat step 2.
Pull your beginning tail to tighten your circle and close the hole. Wrap that tail around the middle of your bow to hide this hole. Sew in ends.

If you do make this bow make sure and sent me a picture below in the comments, on instagram, or in the youtube comments! I'd love to see your creations!
